Sorry for the long gap in posting, things have been hectic around here. To keep myself slightly entertained, I did up a few imperial knight titans to have around the shop since I did not have anything in my armies that were larger than a landraider. I wasn't particularly inspired to do much in painting for them, barely had enough affection towards them to do more than some tickling with a paint brush. But I wanted to do something a little different to show at least some form of creativity or effort. After some random reading, had a few ideas to do them in bright colors or patterns modeled after some bombers from WW1 and WW2. It works for the most part, and is tournament legal.

One down, a few more to go...

Picked up one of these at a FLGS on a whim. Rather nice laser cut millboard kit. Went together fairly well, actually had clear instructions with it unlike some other similar kits. Only complaint is that some of the nesting that was done to get all of the parts to fit on the same sheets makes some pieces a little more fragile than perhaps they should be.

Probably the only Forge World unit that I have done in quite a while. The base is made from a Snapple bottle cap, heavily weighed down with lead to support the dynamic pose of the model. Somewhat fun model, though the armor around the knee and elbows kind of leaves a bit to be desired. Magnetized all of the arms at the shoulder joint, had to make molds of the shoulder parts to make it all work. Also am not a big fan of double gun dreads, have to keep a nice big melee weapon to deal with the squishy stuff that likes to run up to you after dodging all of your dakka for the first few turns. While posing him, I discovered that dreadnoughts now apparently have a special "Jazz Hands" attack...

Reposting these again since there has been some talk of doing another city scale project like this again. Originally this was to be the "prototype" for a series of building city blocks that could be rearranged in numerous ways, but each building would a character in its own right.



For future reference, since I do get asked from time to time on quoting terrain commissions like this: it is easily $150+ a pop for something like this mainly due to the cost of the kit, and labor involved.

The last few of the large terrain piece project. The first two are halves of the same piece, in theory it was supposed to be a junkyard of sorts using a couple of different terrain kits, but became a compromise as the scope of the project was changed several times. In the end, it was done to be done.



The next piece is a combination Necromunda/40K set, also part of the larger city layout that was begun earlier. Everything was done to make it unique from the usual way this kit is normally assembly.
